A popular Cincinnati brewery is celebrating the opening of its third location.

MadTree Brewing’s Parks & Rec taproom and restaurant opened in a former airplane hangar at Summit Park in Blue Ash Thursday. The restaurant offers MadTree’s award-winning craft beers, handcrafted cocktails and a menu of pizzas, sandwiches, salads and even all-day brunch dishes like Chicken & Waffles and the Goetta Sandwich.

“MadTree is thrilled to join the Blue Ash community. Summit Park is the perfect home for Parks & Rec, it allows us to further our purpose: to connect people to nature and each other,” MadTree co-founder Brady Duncan said in a press release. “We’re looking forward to becoming a cornerstone for the community and becoming the place neighbors and families build lasting memories.”

The 15,000-square-foot space also extends Summit Park’s green space with elements that cater to all ages, including a designated indoor kids’ area and accessible and inclusive bar areas and seating. This spring, Parks & Rec will also unveil a to-go window, outdoor playscape and “human foosball.”

“MadTree Parks & Rec brings new life to the northwest corner of Summit Park with amenities that offer great value to our community,” said Blue Ash Parks and Recreation Director Brian Kruse. “The City envisioned transforming the hangar into an iconic destination, and seeing it become this remarkable restaurant brings that vision to life. We’re excited to partner with MadTree for many years to come.”

Inside, the restaurant features a living wall and botanical chandeliers by Urban Blooms, just like MadTree’s Alcove restaurant in Over-the-Rhine. There is also a life-size tree in the center of the taproom. Outside, there’s and extensive patio that allows guests to blend their Summit Park experience with Parks & Rec.

With Parks & Rec, MadTree is also continuing its tradition of sustainability and inclusivity. It’s the only B Corp brewery in Ohio and is a member of 1% for the Planet, a coalition of businesses that donate 1% of their sales to local environmental nonprofits. Summit Park will be a financial beneficiary of MadTree, says the brewery.

The opening of Parks & Rec is also the debut of MadTree’s “Branch Out,” a new program that supports inclusion for people with developmental disabilities throughout the MadTree brand.

MadTree Parks & Rec is open daily for brunch, lunch and dinner.
