One mother-son duo is soon to showcase their baking talents in Over-the-Rhine.

Ramy Mahmud and Yanitza Linares will open their new bakery The Roll this Saturday at 9 a.m. on 1426 Race Street, across from Mellotone Beer Project. The two pride themselves on their from-scratch, family recipe cinnamon rolls.

“I love this neighborhood—the energy and the people—and there hasn’t been a bakery nearby offering this kind of elevated cinnamon roll experience,” Mahmud said. “Getting to build this together with my mother makes it even more meaningful, and we’re eager to share what we’ve been working on.”

While Mahmud will oversee day-to-day operations and management of the bakery, his mother—a professional baker with more than 15 years’ experience—will lead the creation of its handmade offerings. Baked fresh daily in their OTR storefront, the cinnamon rolls will be available in a variety of flavors, including glazed sugar, cream cheese, pistachio, chocolate ganache, salted caramel and blueberry.

Enhancing the experience, the bakery’s open-concept design will give guests a front-row view of the baking process. Alongside its signature cinnamon rolls, The Roll will offer a selection of hot and cold beverages, including Lavazza coffee, lemonade and more.

“With its proximity to Washington Park and many beloved bars and restaurants like Mellotone, Losanti and Colette, this area of OTR is perfectly suited for a bakery like The Roll,” said Christy Samad, EVP of Civic & Commercial Space Activations for 3CDC. “The addition brings greater diversity to the local food scene and offers residents and downtown employees another great place to start their day.”

The Roll will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. To learn more, visit their Instagram page.
