After less than a year of being open, the Over-the-Rhine nightclub Sharkz is closing its doors for good later this month.
Sharkz, a late-night spot known for its elaborate laser system and several theme-heavy nights—like “Black Hollywood,” “Reggaeton Paradise,” and 90s nights—opened last Black Friday on November 28th. Today, on social media, the club announced its closure.
“It’s with heavy hearts we announce the closure of our nightclub, as we know it was short lived,” the post read. The club gave no reason for the closure.
Sharkz featured two bars, two VIP sections, a giant dancef loor and the aforementioned laser system inside its roughly 6,000-square-foot location, which is next door to Rhinegeist Brewery at 2010 Elm Street.
The club’s final event will be their Cincinnati Pride afterparty on June 27, featuring Big Lex.
