Newport on the Levee’s miniature golf and restaurant concept is expanding.
Par 3, which opened at the Levee in August 2024, offers an innovative and modern approach to traditional mini golf that focuses on “competitive socializing” through interactive gameplay. In addition to three custom-designed courses with over-the-top themes, the space also has a menu of high-end sharable small plates and specialty cocktails.
Now, Par 3 will also offer a fast-casual dining experience in the now-vacant Galley on the Levee food hall next door. This new component will feature a different menu than the main restaurant, with grab-and-go meals and desserts described as “higher-end fair foods,” including pizza by the slice, breadsticks, regular and cinnamon-sugar pretzel bites, bunker fries, floats and slushies.
“The Levee has been evolving into a hub for unique experiences over the past few years, and we’ve been very pleased with how well Par 3 has performed so far,” Par 3 founder and owner Moananui Haretuku said in a press release. “We knew we wanted to grow our footprint to fill the void onsite for fast-casual bites and approached Jamestown [the owner of Newport on the Levee] about options. Everything fell into place naturally with the food hall being vacant — which is perfect since the space already has a direct connection to our main entrance.”
The space is currently undergoing renovations. A portion of the wall separating the food hall from Par 3’s original footprint is being removed to create a contiguous and free-flowing venue. The space is also being painted to fit the Par 3 brand. Two of the four kitchens, the central bar and the outdoor patio will remain, and new digital screens, food displays and an ordering counter are being installed. Haretuku says he also wants to add another golf hole to the ground floor later this year.
“Par 3 has been a perfect fit at The Levee, providing over-the-top fun that appeals to a wide range of guests from families to young singles. This expansion will allow their team to better accommodate the community,” said Terry Ohnmeis, senior director of retail services at Cushman & Wakefield. “It’s been extremely rewarding to watch how quickly the market has embraced the concept, and I believe this new component will be received just as well.”
Par 3’s expansion is expected to open later this July.
