A beloved Cincinnati Italian restaurant will move from its original location after 30 years.

Nicola’s announced on social media Monday that it will move from its current address at 1420 Sycamore St. in Pendleton to 127 W. Fourth St. in downtown Cincinnati, between The Härth Room and Koch Sporting Goods and the former location of late chef Jean-Robert de Cavel’s Pigall’s, which closed in 2009 and has been vacant since.

“This next chapter is a chance to evolve while honoring the rich history that has made Nicola’s so special to so many. We’ll be sharing updates, behind-the-scenes moments, and stories from the past as we make this transition together,” owner and chef Cristian Pietoso shared.

Pietoso didn’t offer a specific reason for the move, but says the transition won’t be until 2026.

“There’s still plenty of time to enjoy Nicola’s as you know it — so come raise a glass, share a meal, and celebrate all the memories made and those still to come.”

Nicola’s, best known for its contemporary Italian fare and extensive wine menu, opened in Pendleton in 1996 under Pietoso’s father and mother, Nicola and Maureen. Pietoso says he’s proud to carry on their legacy and offer authentic and fresh Italian cuisine to Cincinnati diners. The restaurant has also consistently earned 4-Diamond status from AAA and appeared on CityBeat’s Best of Cincinnati list of best Italian restaurants.
