Finally, there’s an extra reason to sip bourbon while listening to excellent jams: benefiting humanity.

Yes, we’re talking about the Bourbon Baron Bash. The second annual event returns to MegaCorp Pavillion (101 W 4th St, Newport, Kentucky) on Saturday, Sept. 7, with an evening of bourbon tastings and bluegrass.

From 6 to 10 p.m., attendees can sample some of the finest bourbons made by award-winning distillers including Augusta, New Riff, Old Pogue, Boone County, Pensive, Castle & Key and McBrayer. Plus, there will be a bevy of food vendors on site.

Musical entertainment will come from Grand Ole Opry star Kelly Willis and Grammy award-winning bluegrass band Town Mountain.

And the best part? A percentage of the proceeds will benefit the Cure Starts Now, a foundation that seeks to find a “home run cure” for cancer by funding cancer research and support.
