On Tuesday, Sen by Kiki, owned by James Beard-nominated chef Hideki Harada, celebrated its grand opening in a new storefront space at Findlay Market.

Opened inside the Findlay Market House in 2022, Sen by Kiki offers sushi-grade seafood, oysters shucked to order and Asian pantry staples. Following the retirement of Barb and Tim Heist, who owned Heist Fish & Poultry, Sen by Kiki moved into their former storefront, located at 106 W. Elder St.

“We are excited to have the honor of being the new owners of the former Heist fish market space. With the new space and the size of the shop, we can provide a larger selection and also provide seafood options for everyone in the community. So come one and come all to our new location!” Harada said in a press release.

With the larger space, Sen will be able to expand its product selection to include sashimi-grade fish, ready-to-eat oysters and more prepared foods and grocery staples. Sen will also offer many staples Heist was known for.

In addition to Sen, Harada also owns the restaurant Kiki, which will reopen on Ludlow Avenue in Clifton later this year, as well as Japanese convenience store Daruma and omakase speakeasy Roji, both located on Court Street in downtown Cincinnati.
