Mount Healthy just got a little more caffeinated with the recent opening of Square Mile Coffee Company on Hamilton Avenue.
Trish and Tom Gulyas and their daughter Kim Rollins opened the shop in mid-January as a place where folks from the neighborhood can gather and enjoy quality coffee beverages, light bites and conversation. Trish is the majority owner and Kim is the day-to-day manager of the family-owned and female-helmed shop.
Housed in a historic 1915 Mount Healthy garage/service station that was renovated by local couple Susan Frank and Ken Weaver, the team behind Square Mile was committed to finding the right fit for the community. “For many years, residents had been asking for a local coffee shop within walking distance on Hamilton Avenue so it was a great fit,” reads a press release.
Named after Mount Healthy’s “historic city limits of one square mile,” the coffee company gained support from the community while sharing their goods at Fibonacci’s farmers markets, as well as at pop-ups throughout the city, before opening their brick and mortar.
Open 6 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, Square Mile serves coffee from Cincinnati roasters La Terza and offers breakfast and lunch sandwiches as well as pastries in addition to coffee, espresso and tea.
They plan to offer outdoor seating as well as host workshops to teach guests how to brew coffee at home.
