After months of development, the most mysterious new business in Walnut Hills will finally reveal its secrets to the public.
The Gardens, which aims to be a bar, a restaurant, a retail space, a botanical garden and more, will open its doors at 2800 Woodburn Avenue on Dec. 11.
“The view through our windows may be changing, but the magic is growing,” the business said in an Instagram post. “Our next chapter begins when we open our doors in December!”

This past September, CityBeat spoke with owner Jen Ciolino about her plans for the expansive space that formerly held Woodburn Brewing.
“We want to create something unique and special that is alive. The reason for the name ‘The Gardens’ is because gardens are always changing,” she said. “Things grow, things die, new things grow. And so what we’re building is an experience not only where everyone feels like it was made for them, but where it’s different every time you come in.”
Based on the details she’s revealed on her Instagram page, it sounds like The Gardens will have plenty of different experiences. According to a recent post, the space will feature a parlor area, a cafe, a gift shop, a “makers space” with arts & crafts, an outdoor bar and a park.
“There’s so much different stuff that goes on there in a garden. There’s never just one thing, whether it’s flowers or vegetables. But yet, when you look at a garden, you know it’s a garden, right?” Ciolino said. “You can walk into a garden and go, ‘Oh, that flower wasn’t there yesterday.’ That’s really why it’s called ‘The Gardens.’ We have things to make, to eat, to drink, to do, to read, to sit, to get loud, to be quiet, but it’s never the same experience.”
