The Gold Star Chili in Hartwell is celebrating its grand reopening this weekend with free cheese coneys and the chance to win free burgers.
Gold Star’s Hartwell location underwent extensive remodeling both inside and outside after a fire damaged the building and forced the restaurant to close in 2021. In honor of reopening, on Saturday-Sunday, May 18-19, Gold Star will be giving away one free cheese coney with the purchase of any regular Coke product. Guests will also be entered to win free burgers for a year. The offer extends to all dine-in, drive-thru and carryout orders.

The Hartwell restaurant also features Gold Star’s newest restaurant design, which blends the traditional chili parlor experience with a comfortable and contemporary environment, says the chain. It also has an expanded menu, with fresh, grilled-to-order burgers made with a special spice mix and finished with Gold Star’s secret “heavenly” sauce; Southern-style fried chicken breast sandwiches; entrée salads; double-deckers; loaded fries; and handspun milkshakes.
The Hartwell Gold Star is located at 21 E. Galbraith Road. It will be open this weekend from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
