Northside brewery Urban Artifact is ringing in spooky season early with the August launch of its Trick or Treat Hard Seltzer.
The cryptid-themed collection features a six pack of seltzers, each donning an illustration of a supernatural creature like the Loveland Frogman or a chupacabra. The "trick" — and "treat" — part comes into play in the form of seltzers' taste.
Each six pack features six mystery flavors — two weird ones and four "treats."
“The idea started originally as a fun way for (Urban Artifact) to dress up for Halloween,” Bret Kollmann Baker, the brewery’s chief of brewing operations, says in a release. “Will Mothman taste like blue raspberry or toothpaste? Either way, it’s perfect for sharing. Bring some to a Halloween party, or just sit at home getting weird with your friends.”
In addition to blue raspberry and toothpaste, the brewery also lists flavors like chocolate and fresh-cut grass in the release.
The Trick or Treat Hard Seltzer six pack launches on Aug. 15 and will be available at retailers including Kroger, Meijer and Urban Artifact's taproom. Get more info or shop online at artifactbeer.com.
