After just over a year in business, Urbana Cafe has closed its Price Hill location.
In a social media post yesterday, Urbana announced that the 3114 Warsaw Ave. location’s last day of service was Sunday, July 12. Since then, the Evanston-based cafe Cream + Sugar Coffeehouse has purchased the building’s assets and assumed the lease.
“We are grateful for the opportunity of serving this neighborhood in transformation and we will treasure the memories of our time here in Price Hill,” the Urbana post reads in part.
This will be the second location for Cream + Sugar, owned by Simone Cocks. 3CRE’s Sina Danesh represented Urbana founder Daniel Noguera in the sale, while Cocks was represented by 3CRE’s Rachel Thompson.
“When Daniel approached me to sell the business assets for this location, our goal was to find an experienced owner in the coffee industry and a buyer who would fit well within the neighborhood and the existing community. Simone checked every box,” Danesh said.
Urbana’s team promised they “will be working closely together to help with this transition” to set up Cream + Sugar for success in its second location.
“We are excited to see her bring new life to the space and look forward to her continued success,” Thompson said in a statement. “Through her nonprofit youth organization, The Collective Vessel, Simone is dedicated to empowering students by providing barista training and hospitality-focused education. This creates opportunities for personal and professional growth while making a meaningful impact in the community.”
Urbana currently has two locations at Findlay Market, in addition to cafes in East Walnut Hills, Pendleton and inside the Contemporary Arts Center.
