Wyoming bar and grill Gilligan’s on the Green is now under new ownership.

According to a press release, West Side Brewing has acquired the restaurant, which opened in November 2023 under EP Investment Group, LLC. As part of the transition, Gilligan’s on the Green will rebrand to Gilligan’s Brewery beginning Feb. 1.

West Side has been producing Gilligan’s line of Irish-, English- and Scottish-inspired beers at their Westwood facility since early 2023, moving productions next door to Gilligan’s in Wyoming this past December. West Side Brewing started producing the beers as a tribute to two of West Side CEO Joe Mumper’s Irish-American ancestors, Martin Gilligan Sr. and Martin T. “Bud” Gilligan, both Cincinnati residents.

EP Investment Group, LLC President Frank Eversole said with West Side beginning to brew the beers on-site at Gilligan’s, it made sense to have the brewery take over operations of the entire space to create an authentic taproom experience.

“We’re thrilled to take over the operations of the taproom,” Mumper said in the release. “The EP Investment Team did a phenomenal job of renovating the space operating the restaurant since opening.”

Current Gilligan’s general manager Emmy Friedrichs and chef David Mapstead will continue in their current roles, but West Side said patrons can expect some changes.

“We’re looking forward to working with Emmy on some exciting changes that will make Gilligan’s one of the very best brewery taproom experiences in the region,” Mumper added.

As for the beer, Gilligan’s lineup focuses on true-to-style beers inspired by the brews of the British Isles.

“There will be some variety to the product while keeping it very traditional. From Irish-style ales to ordinary bitters, lagers to stouts, there will be a beer for everyone,” Gilligan’s head brewer Ryan Baird said.
