A West Side family-owned restaurant says it is closing “indefinitely.”

Mom-and-pop restaurant Diane’s has been in the East family for over 40 years, first opening on Court Street in 1984 before moving to its current location on Anderson Ferry Road in Green Township in the ’90s. It was best known for its welcoming atmosphere, affordable prices and home-cooking-style meals.

The restaurant had its last service Saturday, closing abruptly the following day. The East family announced the closure on social media.

“Everyone, thank you for your support over the years…but we have made a decision to close down indefinitely…We’re sorry to tell you this…but thanks to everyone who kept us going,” wrote owner Al East and his son, Dana.

The Easts didn’t share a specific reason for the closure, but added, “We did the best we could!”
