Mother's Day is right around the corner — Sunday, May 12 to be exact — and if you haven't picked a spot to celebrate mom yet, here are some local restaurants and attractions offering special brunches. Obviously, reservations are a must for most of these.

Taft Museum of Art — Now showcasing the artworks of five great American painters such as Thomas Eakins, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe and Helen Frankenthaler, the Taft Museum of Art offers a colorful backdrop for your special day. On Mother’s Day, Taft will offer a brunch under the garden tent. Tickets also include non-alcoholic beverages, a dessert platter and a small gift for each mom. Mother's Day Brunch at Coney Island — The Coney Island Mother’s Day all-you-can-eat breakfast brunch is back for all of the family to enjoy in either Moonlite Gardens or Moonlite Pavilion. And luckily, right after, you can check out the history, culture, music and crafting at the Appalachian Festival right beside the Ohio River. There will be many attractions and entertainment for mom, dad and the kids. One ticket gets you access to the festival, the brunch or breakfast buffet, a cash bar and more. Mother's Day Brunch at the Newport Aquarium — Make this Mother’s Day one she will not forget. Enjoy brunch inside the Riverside Room, and while enjoying the food, why not add a penguin to the mix? Mother’s Day Southern Brunch at Out of Thyme Kitchen Studio — Started by chef Jaime Carmody in 2016, the Out of Thyme Kitchen Studio is an event space with a full-service commercial kitchen. For Mother’s Day, the studio will be having a Southern brunch featuring dishes such as fried chicken and waffles, spring spinach salad with bacon vinaigrette and blueberry lemon muffins.
