Billy Joel will no longer visit Cincinnati this September after a recent medical diagnosis.

The music legend and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s team released a statement Friday announcing the cancellation of all Joel’s upcoming concerts after he was diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH). Joel was set to perform at Paycor Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 20, alongside Rod Stewart.

NPH is a brain condition where cerebrospinal fluid builds up inside your skull and presses on your brain, according to the Cleveland Clinic. In the statement, Joel’s team says his NPH has been “exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance.”

“Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period. Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health. He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage,” reads the statement.

“I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding,” Billy Joel added in the statement.

If you purchased tickets to see Joel at Paycor, you won’t need to take any action to receive a refund. It will be processed back to the original payment you used. If tickets were transferred to you, however, the payment will return to the original purchaser.
