Guitarist/singer/songwriter Albert Hammond Jr., best known as a founding member of Indie Rock gods The Strokes, is kicking off a solo tour this weekend at New Orleans’ Voodoo Music + Arts Experience Festival. Today it was announced that Hammond Jr. will play Cincinnati on Dec. 3.

Tickets ($23-$25) for the musician’s show at Oakley’s 20th Century Theater go on sale this Friday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster (here).

The headlining Cincy show comes amidst a string of dates for Hammond Jr. that includes opening slots for Elle King, The Struts, Bastille, Smashing Pumpkins and Death Cab for Cutie.

Hammond Jr. is touring support of his fourth solo album, Francis Trouble, which was released in March and is themed around “the stillborn death of his twin brother, Francis, and the lingering effects that event has had in his life and music.” The album (which, like his other solo work, definitely has a Strokes-ian flair) has received positive reviews from outlets like Paste and Pitchfork, which called Francis Trouble “some of the brightest and scrappiest music he’s ever made.”

Recently, Francis Trouble‘s single “Far Away Truths” has been scoring play from Alternative radio outlets across the country (it currently sits on the Alternative Radio charts at No. 22). Check it out below.
