As Over-the-Rhine bar and music venue The Hub OTR prepares to move into its new space, it’s teaming up with the Cincinnati Skatepark Project to close out a decade of shows and do some good for the community.
In November, The Hub OTR announced it was moving from its spot at 1209 Main down the road to 1215 Main, the former St. John 3:16 Baptist Church. Lindsey Swadner, the bar’s owner, says the new location will be a major upgrade in terms of space, allowing them to accommodate more concertgoers for their often sold-out shows.
“I’ve been in The Hub’s original spot for 10 years,” Swadner told CityBeat at the time. “We have really large shows and we’re capping out and have to turn people away, it’s nuts.”

As a goodbye to the original space, The Hub OTR is hosting a two-day event Friday-Saturday, Aug. 25-26 that will also help raise funds for a skatepark – or several – in Cincinnati in the future.
You must be at least 21 to attend the farewell shows and entry is $15 a day. The event will host several bands, as well as raffles. Raffle tickets will be $1 apiece or six for $5. Prizes include skateboards, local gift cards and certificates and a piece of taxidermy from The Hub’s coveted (and, in their words, questionable) collection.

Saturday’s lineup:
- Blunt Blades
- Shot well
- Crime of Passing
- Tweens
Both shows begin at 9 p.m.
