During the early 20th century, local artist and Art Academy of Cincinnati professor John Augustus Knapp illustrated books for Canadian-born author and mystic Manly Palmer Hall; the two collaborated on a tarot card deck originally produced in 1929. Ken Henson, current associate professor and illustration coordinator at the Art Academy, was recently commissioned by the Philosophical Research Society to restore and reissue Hall and Knapp’s Revised New Art Tarot. The Lloyd Library and Museum hosts a card signing and meet and greet with Henson, as well as a talk with local tarot card expert Ron Decker.
