While Kyle Grooms has traditionally shied away from doing current-events humor, he now has a gig doing just that. “I’ve been writing on this new show called Trending,” he says. “It’s like The Daily Show, only it’s topics that are trending but not really in the news.”
On stage it’s the opposite approach. “I’m getting more into storytelling,” he says. “It’s better for me and my sets because I can use less material. I talk about having a kid now, and stuff that’s been going on in the world.”
