If you pass through The Banks this morning and notice some abnormal commotion, do not be alarmed. There will be a mass casualty incident drill from 8-11 a.m. in the area.
“Over 300 volunteers and 30 organizations are coming together to practice emergency response skills during a worst-case scenario,” a press release from the Health Collaborative says.
The exercise is hosted by The Hamilton County Fire Chiefs Association, Hamilton County Local Emergency Planning Committee, Hamilton County Emergency Management, Homeland Security Agency and the local Disaster Preparedness Coalition. The drill will bring together first responders, hospitals and emergency partners to practice skills in order to keep the area safe in case of a disaster. Mehring Way near Great American Ball Park will shift to one lane during the exercise and Joe Nuxhall Way will be closed until 1 p.m.
