Members of the band Anvil, the long-forgotten Canadian Metal demigods, will be at the Esquire on Saturday to introduce a special midnight showing of the documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil. The movie follows Steve “Lips” Kudlow and Robb Reiner, who made a pact at age 14 that they would rock together forever. Their band, Anvil, released 1982’s Metal on Metal, one of the heaviest Metal albums of all time, selling millions of records. Then nothing. They faded into oblivion. The film, directed by Sacha Gervasi, features interviews with Malcolm Dome, Lars Ulrich, Scott Ian, Lemmy and Slash. A Q&A with the band and a live performance will follow the screening. $9.50.
