The Hamilton County Engineer’s Office is leading a comprehensive, multi-agency safety action plan focused on improving traffic safety on public roadways and intersections across Hamilton County.
The plan identifies and advances solutions that reduce and ultimately eliminate preventable traffic deaths and serious injuries, while promoting safe and accessible transportation for all road users.
This effort combines local crash data, roadway analysis, community input and proven safety strategies to guide future planning, project prioritization and infrastructure investment decisions by the Engineer’s Office and partner agencies.
A data-driven approach to safety
The Comprehensive Safety Action Plan establishes a framework to:
- Identify high risk locations and safety trends
- Prioritize projects and safety improvements
- Coordinate efforts among jurisdictions and agencies
- Strengthen funding opportunities for implementation.
This plan advances the Hamilton County Engineer’s mission to maintain safe, reliable roadways by using data, cross agency coordination and community input to guide where safety improvements will have the greatest impact for the public.
Community Input will help shape the plan
Community input is a critical part of this effort. The Hamilton County Engineer’s Office is inviting people who travel on the county’s roadways to complete a roughly 10-minute transportation safety survey to share their experiences on county roads.
Through the survey, participants can:
- Identify traffic safety concerns
- Provide feedback on how the county should prioritize road safety investments
- Suggest improvements that could reduce or eliminate traffic safety risks
- Drop a pin on an interactive map to identify locations where they have specific safety concerns or have witnessed a close call.
Public feedback will help the Engineer’s Office better understand roadway safety concerns from the community’s perspective and inform future recommendations and investment priorities. The more input received, the stronger the data will be.
