New York, At Broadway & St. John, by Leo Rubinfien

At 7 p.m. tonight at the Cincinnati Art Museum’s Fath Auditorium, there will be a free Lightborne lecture by photographer Leo Rubinfien, whose Wounded Cities series — based on his having witnessed the 9/11 World Trade Center terrorist attack from a nearby apartment — looks at how people around the world have been psychologically affected by terrorist attacks. He has traveled the world — London, Nairobi, Moscow, Buenos Aires, Istanbul and Colombo — on the project. Born in Chicago in 1953 and a graduate of California Institute of the Arts and Yale University School of Art, he first attracted attention for his color photographs that investigated early globalization. His book Wounded Cities was published in 2008. Reservations are not required, though early arrival is recommended. Parking is $4 for non-museum members.
