Born both blind and deaf, Marie Heurtin (Ariana Rivoire) emerges from isolation thanks to the support of Sister Marguerite (Isabelle Carré), who teaches her how to effectively communicate her thoughts and feelings. Philippe Blasband and Jean-Pierre Améris (who partnered on the script for Romantics Anonymous) shared screenwriting credit here, while Améris took the helm (as he did with Romantics) of what undoubtedly had to have been a challenging narrative to render dramatically for the screen.
