Born out of frustration and isolation during lead singer Andy Hull’s days in high school, Manchester Orchestra is far from lonely now. For almost a decade, the band has toured across the globe collecting famous friends (like Brand New and Biffy Clyro) and devoted fans everywhere it goes. The band’s driving guitars and urgent vocals pick up even more followers each time Manchester Orchestra’s music gets used on television shows, which is fairly often.
It’s been nearly three years since the last Manchester Orchestra album, but the new material drought ended when the Indie Rock ensemble recently released the new single “After the Scripture,” featured on the soundtrack for the anticipated new Matthew McConaughey film, Dallas Buyers Club. The track is also expected to be included on the band’s fourth full-length album, which is targeted for release within the first few months of 2014.
Manchester Orchestra plays a sold-out show with The Front Bottoms and O’Brother Saturday, Nov. 24 at Southgate House Revival in Newport. Check out performance times and get venue details here.
