Any activity dubbed “College Nite” typically conjures thoughts of nickel beers and soggy togas but that’s certainly not what the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra has in mind. College Nite at the CSO Friday is a special treat for all area college students, as the normal $10 student rate affords you not only a seat at the evening’s CSO concert — featuring renowned pianist Radu Lupu performing Beethoven’s 4th Piano Concerto — but also a spot at the post-concert party. Students will enjoy free appetizers, a cash bar, great door prizes and the opportunity to mingle with Music Director Paavo Jarvi and the CSO’s outstanding musicians, not to mention live music from Peter Adams, one of Cincinnati’s most widely acclaimed singer/songwriters who is often name-checked with the likes of Radiohead and Neutral Milk Hotel. The concert gets underway at 8 p.m. at Music Hall with the party immediately after. Don’t wait; tickets are $12 the day of the event.
