As a kid in the 1950s, I watched a memorable TV broadcast of a Broadway musical, Peter Pan, starring Mary Martin as the spritely leader of the Lost Boys — flying high above the stage, singing “I’ve Gotta Crow” and doing battle with Captain Hook. Martin was the first of many women to play the role. It’s a switch to have Peter played by a guy, but that’s what’s up with Cincinnati Music Theatre’s production at the Aronoff’s Jarson-Kaplan Theater: Talented local actor Joshua Steele is playing the cocky boy who refuses to grow up.
