For a great way to meet your need for some onstage entertainment in the first week of 2013, I suggest you put a big red circle around Monday, Jan. 7, for True Theatre’s next presentation at Know Theatre. These programs of speakers telling a true story from their lives — organized around a theme — are both riveting and entertaining. This time out it’s “True Cincinnati,” and you’ll hear from Buddy LaRosa’s son (now the CEO of the pizza chain), a librarian who went above and beyond to ensure the restoration of a historic photo of Cincinnati’s 19th-century riverfront, a student who offers a guided tour of a side of Cincinnati you probably don’t know about and energetic WKRC-TV personality Bob Herzog. Hosted by founders David Levy and Jeff Groh, these 7:30 p.m. evenings are always satisfying — and frequently sold out. Monday, Jan. 7. $15. Know Theatre, 1120 Jackson St., Over-the-Rhine. 513-300-5669, knowtheatre.com.
