The Greenwich is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its renovation/reopening with back-to-back weekends in May of stellar Jazz entertainment. This Saturday, Trinidadian Jazz steel drummer Othello Molineaux, who marked the club's reopening one year ago, returns from Miami, Fla. Molineaux has a decade-long relationship with the club who plays traditional Calypso as well as straight-ahead Bop — unusual for the steel drums. Joining Molineaux and his pans is area trumpeter/composer/arranger Mike Wade. Also, in coming weekends look for the return of Blues/Jazz vocalist Mose Allison (May 8 and 9). Next will be an appearance by renowned pianist Hal Galper (May 15). The month-long celebration closes with Wade's Standard Time (May 22) before they head out for a major summer Jazz festival appearance.
At The Greenwich on Saturday.
