Everyone loves turning their dog into a runway model; many people have even set up Instagram accounts just for their furry friends to strut their stuff.
But William Wegman is possibly the only artist to have achieved international recognition by taking pictures of his own weimaraner dogs.
Thirty-seven years after the Contemporary Arts Center exhibited Wegman’s World, the 75-year-old artist returns to the Queen City for a free lecture, Q&A and book signing at the Cincinnati Art Museum concerning his iconic canine photography.
Wegman’s work has been featured in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Sesame Street and the Smithsonian, among other acclaimed institutions.
7 p.m. Wednesday, April 17. Free admission. Cincinnati Art Museum, 953 Eden Park Drive, Mount Adams, fotofocuscincinnati.org.
