Sunday nights aren’t usually the typical going out evening for a lot of people. But then again, events at Paul Coors’ “The Ice Cream Factory” in Brighton aren’t usually … typical. Much like he did at his former gallery space, Publico (2003-2008), Coors books multi-disciplinary artists who seem equally at home performing in a formal art institution as they are Coors’ informal living/studio space. The evening’s headliner is Helado Negro, one of the many outlets for the musical/visual interests of Brooklyn-based multi-hypenate Roberto Lange. A frequent collaborator of visual artists (he regularly works with David Ellis), Lange often involves some graphic element to his live performances, and this current tour to promote his recent album Canta Lechuza includes video artist Zoe Fitzgerald. Also on hand will be Electronic Pop two-piece Bear (The Ghost) and spoken word performance artist Jim Swill. The $6 entrance fee is a donation that goes directly to the touring artists. 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17. All ages. The Ice Cream Factory, 2133 Central Ave. #3, Brighton.
