HorrorHound magazine expertly and uniquely covers the latest news on horror movies, collectibles, comic books, video games and more, so the stars at its annual convention — more broadly a pop culture convention with a horror focus — are always hard to predict and refreshingly esoteric. Over the past decade, the cult-classic, Cincinnati-based publication has brought a wickedly cool guest list of stars to town for its annual HorrorHound Weekend Cincinnati convention in nearby Sharonville, including A Clockwork Orange‘s Malcolm McDowell, The Exorcist’s Linda Blair, Elvira, Evil Dead’s Bruce Campbell and John Waters.
This week, organizers announced two new additions to its lineup of stars coming in for the next HorrorHound weekend, March 15-17, 2019.
Christina Ricci has starred in everything from Mermaids to the underrated indie classic Buffalo 66, but her horror credentials are substantial (if a little offbeat, making her perfect for HorrorHound Weekend). She was in family-oriented spooky/funny fare like Casper and The Addams Family and more recently played the titular role in the Lifetime series The Lizzie Borden Chronicles.
The other newly announced HorrorHound Weekend guest is Christopher Lloyd, known for his iconic characters Doc Brown (in the Back the Future movies) and Jim Ignatowski from the classic TV series Taxi. Lloyd also appeared in the Adams Family films alongside Ricci, playing Uncle Fester, and his other acting credits include Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Clue, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension and many others. His other “horror” credits include Piranha 3D, I Am Not a Serial Killer and more.
Ricci and Lloyd join a stacked roster of stars who will do signings over the course of the weekend at the 2019 convention. Previously announced guests include Neve Campbell (Scream, The Craft), Dylan McDermott (American Horror Story), Doug Jones (The Shape of Water, Hellboy), Rock legend Meat Loaf (The Rocky Horror Picture Show), Robert Patrick (The X-Files, The Faculty, Terminator 2), Billy Boyd (Seed of Chucky, Lord of the Rings), Devon Sawa (Final Destination, Idle Hands) and, um, Pauly Shore (on Facebook, HorrorHound Weekend notes, “Pauly has a few horror credits to his name. Notably his new short film, in which he directed and stars, Sin City Psycho. Pauly also appeared in the Phantom of the Mall: Eric’s Revenge and The Bogus Witch Project“).
Along with the signings, Q&A sessions, vendors, a tattoo fest and a film festival, HorrorHound Weekend will also feature a performance by Unknown Hinson, the vampiric Rockabilly artist who does voice work on Squidbillies. Click here for details on the concert appearance.
