If you need a dose of liquid courage to do something scary, the new Brewing Heritage Trail “Darkside of Brewing” tour might just be for you.
Starting Sept. 9 and running through Nov. 5, this spooky series takes attendees into Cincinnati’s “haunted and gruesome” brewing past on a walking tour — which includes a visit deep underground.
“Grave robbing, a serial killing saloonist, and other murderous and deadly mayhem is explored on this haunted tour, which also includes a visit to an abandoned city street, overtaken by nature, as well as a flashlight tour of the underground cellar complex of a historic abandoned Cincinnati brewery,” reads the event description.
Tours run 6 and 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights until October, when the Brewing Heritage Trail will add a 6 p.m. Thursday tour to the lineup. Tickets are $29 for adults and $15 for youths.
The walking portion is less than a mile, but will take place rain or shine. The tour lasts 1-and-a-half hours and includes both paved and unpaved surfaces. Guests will be provided with a flashlight.
If scary spirits aren’t for you, the Brewing Heritage Trail also hosts a variety of historic tours focused on Cincinnati beer history. All Brewing Heritage Trail tours come with a beer.
