Think of Mystery Beer Date at MadTree Brewing tonight like speed dating, mixed with blind dating – but with a lot more craft beer and better outcomes.
The Ohio Craft Brewers Association launched its new event series, Mystery Beer Date, this week during the inaugural Ohio On Tap Week. Cincinnati’s Mystery Beer Date will be tonight at MadTree Brewing from 7-9 p.m.
“People love us for big, over-the-top beer-tasting festivals like Winter Warmer Fest and Six One Pour,” Mary MacDonald, executive director of the Ohio Craft Brewers Association, said in a press release. “With Mystery Beer Date, we’re creating a smaller, more intimate gathering that still delivers the top-notch beer and personal connection with brewers that our festival fans have come to expect from our events.”
How it works is 15 Greater Cincinnati craft breweries will attempt to “woo” guests with special beers and stories behind them. At the end of each tasting, participants will vote for their favorite beer and the best brewery representative “date” among the brewers present.

- Third Eye Brewing Co.
- Toxic Brew Co.
- Wandering Monsters
- Wiedemann Brewery
You can buy tickets online here for $22 or pay $30 at the door. Admission includes all 15 2-ounce samples, a souvenir Ohio On Tap Week beer glass and an enamel pin. If you use the Ohio On Tap passport app, you can also get a bonus stamp at the event.
