After three and a half years in business, one vegan cafe is closing its Mariemont location for good.
Rune Juicery, located at 6844 Wooster Pike, is closing its doors. It originally opened in early 2023. A second Rune Juicery location opened in Northside this past June.
“After a lot of thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our Mariemont location. This space has meant so much to us and we’re incredibly grateful to the Mariemont community for welcoming us with open arms and showing us so much love over the years,” a social media post read.
The post continues by noting that the Northside location is “thriving,” but the Mariemont location has faced staffing challenges, seasonal slowdowns and the fact that “our vision for Rune has outgrown what our Mariemont space can accommodate.”
“We don’t see this as a defeat, but as a stepping stone in Rune’s growth. Businesses evolve, and sometimes that means making difficult decisions about what comes next,” the post said. “As difficult as this decision is, we know we need to look ahead and make choices that allow Rune to continue evolving without losing sight of what we’re building.”
The post concluded by thanking all of the cafe’s customers.
“We’re so proud of what we built in Mariemont, and we’ll always be thankful for the place Rune has held in this community. To all of our regulars who stopped in, supported us, and became familiar faces we got to chat with day after day, thank you. You made this space feel like so much more than a business,” the post reads. “Closing this chapter is bittersweet, but we’re looking forward to what’s ahead. Thank you, Mariemont, for being part of our story.”
