Local ice cream chain Graeter’s is once again pairing with The Cure Starts Now to fight cancer.
As part of the 19th annual “Cones for the Cure” campaign, Graeter’s is bringing back fan-favorite flavor “Elena’s Blueberry Pie.” Created in honor of Elena Desserich, whose story inspired the founding of The Cure Starts Now, the limited-edition flavor and annual campaign have become a meaningful tradition for families across the region. Normally, the flavor returns later in the year, but this time around it will resurface on July 30 and stick around through August 9.
Throughout the campaign, fans can support The Cure Starts Now — a nonprofit that funds groundbreaking cancer research, with a special focus on pediatric brain cancer — by making a donation inside a Graeter’s location or on the company’s website or app. Anyone that makes a donation of $10 or more will receive $20 in Graeter’s coupons and a free scoop of Elena’s Blueberry Pie, and more prizes are available.
The flavor will be available by the scoop in all participating Graeter’s scoop shops, and by the pint in Cincinnati-area Kroger stores, Dorothy Lane Markets and Jungle Jim’s. For more information, visit the official website of Cones for the Cure.
