Though it’s a bit cliche to get a tattoo while you’re tipsy, that’s just life and Rhinegeist is the place to live it. The brewery is having a party to celebrate “the release of our indelible Imperial Stout, including special Ink variants available on draft and in bottles, and for the first time ever, Ink in 16-oz. tallboys,” according to the event’s website. While there, you can get pre-selected art tattooed on you by White Whale, Lonesome Town, Black Fern, Decorated Body, Higher Love, Designs by Dana and Got Ink, while Cryptogram Ink will be on-site with a pop-up, along with food from Empanada Box.Noon-8 p.m. Nov. 19. During regular operating hours you can take in the Contemporary Arts Center’s full gallery, but starting at 4 p.m., resident artist Cierra Fogle will participate in collaborative art-making, followed by dinner from the center’s own Fausto restaurant (reservations required). A half-hour docent tour of the CAC and 21C will then lead to an open-mic night hosted in the Creativity Center, where musicians, poets, comedians and other performers are invited to share their craft. Built in 1873, the Cincinnati Observatory is the oldest public observatory in the United States, housing fully-functional 19th century telescopic technology for the public to use. Seated atop Mount Lookout, the original building and the infamous dome added in 1895 are a significant fixture in the city’s history. Known as “The Birthplace of American Astronomy,” the Cincinnati Observatory is a bedrock for astronomical discoveries and advancement.
