Cedric The Entertainer first burst onto the national comedy scene in 1992 when he appeared on It’s Showtime at The Apollo.

From there, he appeared on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and BET’s Comic View. He began acting in 1996 when he was cast in The Steve Harvey Show as Cedric Jackie Robinson. He has since acted in several films and still does stand-up.

Onstage, he talks quite a bit about the African-American experience in America today.

“White people love space movies,” he tells an audience. “White people love movies about the moon and Mars, where they can be leaving our asses down here on Earth. They think they’re going to leave us down here on Earth and move to the moon. Ain’t gonna happen. You move to the moon, damn it, we’re moving to the moon. We be right behind you in space shuttles with Cadillac grills.”
