The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati will bring two internationally touring family productions to the Emery Theater this June, offering Cincinnati audiences a pair of shows that blend live performance, visual art and audience participation.
“Doodle POP!,” a nonverbal visual theater production from South Korea, runs June 4–7 with eight performances. The show uses live performance and projection effects to bring drawings to life onstage and is designed for children ages 3–12.
“Artrageous,” which combines live music, speed painting and choreography into a single performance, follows June 26–28 with four shows. The production has toured internationally and features artists, musicians and dancers performing simultaneously.
Both shows will be staged at the Emery Theater, the organization’s permanent home on Walnut Street.
“These are the kinds of experiences families don’t get to see every day,” said Kim Kern, president and CEO of The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati. “We wanted to bring something truly unique to Cincinnati this summer.”
