It’s been a whirlwind of changes for FC Cincinnati lately. What’s one more?

Multiple sources have confirmed that FC Cincinnati has hired Chris Albright as its new general manager. Albright currently is the technical director for the Philadelphia Union.

Former general manager Gerard Nijkamp departed in August, and the club released former head coach Jaap Stam and two assistant coaches on Sept. 27.

On Twitter, The Athletic writers Sam Stejskal and Jeff Rueter said that sources confirmed Albright’s hire.

Queen City Press writer Laurel Pfahler also confirmed the news.

As of Friday morning, FC Cincinnati has not mentioned Albright on social media or on the team’s website.

Albright began his post-college career in 1999 and retired from play after the 2012-2013 season with the Philadelphia Union. The Union then hired him as an assistant technical director in 2014.

For the 2021 season, FC Cincinnati is currently 4-8-14 and is in last place in the MLS Eastern Conference.

The team’s next match will be Saturday, Oct. 2, against the New York Red Bulls at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati. See FC Cincinnati’s full schedule.
