People will be able to take a long stroll through Pyramid Hill while listening to live music from Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra in the upcoming Spring Serenade. The free, outdoor event will be held 4-6 p.m. Sunday, May 2.
The teams behind Pyramid Hill and Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra have partnered to deliver a socially-distanced event. Three CCO ensembles will perform short musical arrangements while attendees walk the mile-long pathway with Pyramid Hill’s giant sculptures in full view. At the beginning of the journey, attendees can purchase a drink from the Grand Pavilion bar to enjoy during the performance.
“We always look forward to partnering with Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park,” CCO executive director LeAnne Anklan says in a news release. “We love to break our ensembles out of the concert hall and bring them into the community. The idyllic environs of Pyramid Hill provide the perfect spot to bring together these two incredible artforms.”
The performance walk lasts one hour, and guests are required to pre-register in order to ensure a capacity that can practice social distancing. The performance walk will be held twice, at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., with a maximum of 100 attendees per timeslot. Attendees are encouraged to park at Pyramid Hill fifteen minutes prior to their time.
According to Lee Sanders, interim director at Pyramid Hill, early May is the perfect time to enjoy warm weather, beautiful music and monumental sculptures.
