On Nov. 13, Jeff Tweedy, the guiding force behind beloved Rock band Wilco, is releasing his first book, Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back): A Memoir of Recording and Discording with Wilco, Etc.’This morning, a brief six-date book tour was announced and Cincinnati is one of the stops, joining seemingly more logical cities like Chicago, Boston, St. Louis, Brooklyn and Philly.
Tweedy’s local visit is presented by Joseph-Beth Booksellers but will take place at Walnut Hills High School on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.; seats are not assigned, so it’s a first-come/first-seated situation (i.e. get there early if you want to be up close).
Tickets are on sale now here for $28. Act fast if you hope to go — the 100 $38 tickets that included a book-signing sold out quickly. All ticket-buyers get a copy of the book (unsigned). The up-sell for the private signing event isn’t just a cash-grab for Jeff; the additional cost is being donated to local community youth orchestra MYCincinnati.
Tweedy’s appearance is described as a “presentation” and on Wilco’s site there is a button to request tunes. On Twitter, the events are described as “moderated conversations with Jeff (and yes, his guitar),” so expect some stories and songs if you’re lucky enough to score a ticket.
