Plants are certifiably cool. From leafy green wonders to sprawling vines and low maintenance (but very cute!) succulents, they also make a damn good distraction from looming existential dread and a grueling news cycle. Maybe that’s why millennials are filling their houses to the brim with them.
But it’s also why we’re thankful for local plant shops like Fern, which are known for their expertise, aesthetic swoon-worthy Instagram feed and artist-led classes.
Located in College Hill, the storefront is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a plant sale and a lot party noon-4 p.m. June 2.
According to the Facebook event page, those sales include an additional 20 percent off all sale merchandise, a flat discount rate for houseplants and additional giveaways and discounts. Plus, there will be a kids corners with games and activities, Brink Brewing Company will be serving beer and Kiki College Hill — an upcoming ramen joint that will open down the road from Fern — will handle the grub.
Plants! We love them! For more about Fern’s plant sale, visit fern-shop.com.
