Butlers Pantry deli/coffeeshop/grab-and-go marketplace is hosting a giant community pumpkin carving party on Saturday — as in a party with many people, not many people carving one large pumpkin.
“Whether you can carve a Sistine Chapel replica or just the basic triangle jack-o-lantern face, pumpkin carving is always better when someone else cleans up the mess,” says the event write-up.
Pumpkins on the Patio invites the public to the cafe’s block-long outdoor space to hang out, carve a pumpkin and sip some hot mulled cider. Stencils will be provided, but you need to bring your own pumpkin. (If you happen to arrive pumpkin-less, they will have some gourds for sale.)
A $10 adult ticket includes a bowl of chili (meat or vegan) and a side of cornbread or a peanut butter sandwich. A $7.50 child ticket includes a choice of grilled cheese, PB&J or bowl of chili along with milk, juice, or soda.
There will also be $5 wine and beer, hot cider, hot chocolate and a nice bourbon selection.
The event goes from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. Butlers Pantry is located at 50 E. RiverCenter Blvd., Covington. More info facebook.com.
