A brand seeking to revolutionize the short-term rental (STR) industry is launching the first of its luxury suites in downtown Cincinnati this winter.

REST, from locally owned BWB Hospitality, says it offers unforgettable lodging experiences by combining innovative, tech-powered service and thoughtfully designed accommodations.

“REST is more than a place to lay your head,” reads its website. “It’s a multi-sensory event designed around one thing: your relaxation. Whether it’s a quick overnight stop or a jam-packed weeklong stay, let your REST be an oasis of calm.”

REST says its units will be found in various locations, including historic landmarks, luxury apartment buildings, townhomes, and boutique hotels. It currently has eight luxury suites — located at 333 E. Eighth St. in downtown Cincinnati — you can book for stays starting in February 2024, and it’s on track to acquire 150 units by 2024 and plans to grow to more than 2,000 units in five years, according to a press release.

While REST is not a hotel franchise, it says its units and properties must still adhere to well-defined brand standards of excellence in guest service; F, F & E (furniture, fixtures and equipment); unit decor; and guest amenities.

“Success in the STR industry is achieved by recognizing that we are in the hospitality business. The hospitality business is difficult. We have simplified it and found success through one simple mantra: Make strangers feel like friends and make your friends happy – very happy all the time. REST strives to be the ‘Best in Class’ and will do remarkably well despite some significant challenges from the Covid pandemic and current workforce shortages,” Thomas Wein, REST founder and managing partner, said in the release.

REST is also music-focused, asking you to share your favorite artist at the time of booking, as well as emphasizing the historical music background of the cities units are located in. The brand also plans to give back to its communities with its Take a Rest Foundation, contributing 10% of profits to support local homeless shelters.

You can learn more about REST and book your stay here. Rates start at $199 a night.
