My Furry Valentine, the area’s largest pet adoption event, takes place at the Sharonville Convention Center Saturday, Feb. 18 and Sunday, Feb. 19.

More than 1,000 adoptable animals from multiple rescue agencies around Greater Cincinnati will be in one location to make finding the perfect pet as easy as possible. From dogs, cats, kittens and puppies to other little critters, all sorts of animals in need of a permanent and loving home will be available to meet and greet and some will even be available to take home that day.

Each adoption agency has its own prices and requirements, so fees, applications and waiting times may vary. Pepper Louie’s Legacy “Are you ready to add some Spice to your life? Pepper, Sage, Ginger, Nutmeg and Cinnamon are ready! The Spices are two-month old cattle dog mixes. This savory bunch is playful, super sweet, social and affectionate. They are not at all shy when meeting new people and will accept all the belly rubs you are willing to give. Pepper’s unique coloring will catch your eye, but her personality will steal your heart. This 8-lb beauty checks all the boxes: super sweet, curious and playful. Teeter Louie’s Legacy “You don’t have to be a Yellowstone fan to fall in love with the Yellowstone puppies. They are 7 week old cattle dog mixes who arrived at their foster home at 5 weeks old. Although they are funny, scrappy little pups they love nothing more than to pile onto someone’s lap and take a nap. Anyone’s lap will do and they usually sleep in piles of ten. The brown/red ones are Beth, Elsa, and Colby. They have dark red coats with freckle accents. Teeter, Laramie, Ennis, and Lloyd are smaller and lighter colored than the others yet heavily freckled. Rip, Walker, and Dutton have the most characteristic cattle dog markings and stocky builds. They are rambunctious puppies that play hard then like to crash hard. They are very affectionate and are ready to have their own families. They love to play tug of war and chew on stuffed animals, but being one of ten siblings is getting old for them! They weighed 1.3 to 3 pounds upon arrival into foster care and at 7 weeks have doubled their weight. They immediately learned to crawl into the laps and arms of everyone they’ve met. They are submissive and will fall asleep in your arms. They have had no interaction with cats or adult dogs. These puppies are typical puppies and not crate trained or potty trained, but they do sleep in an open crate together at night. Since they are herding dog mixes, care should be taken to ensure they do not nip at children as they grow up. They have been getting redirection on their manners in their foster home and it will need to continue so they learn expectations while they are young. They would do best in a fenced yard. Being so young it is hard to predict their size or temperament, but their parents were referred to as “cattle dog mixes and you can look at the diversity in the litter to have an idea of their mix. Brady League For Animal Welfare “SPOTLIGHT ANIMAL: The first thing that comes to mind when meeting Brady is just how handsome he is! His golden coat and happy face are striking. Brady came to us after being abandoned. Brady loves the freedom of the outdoors. He will enjoy a home with a big back yard. He has great focus and is a delight to work with on basic obedience and interactive games. Brady has tons of energy and will benefit from an active family that will include him in family activities. Mimi Liberty Acres United Rescue Animal Sanctuary “Mimi is a spotlight animal as this will be her third time coming to a My Furry Valentine adoption event. We know this is her year! Mimi is a diva dog for sure. She wants things how she wants them. Though she lives with other dogs currently she would prefer a home where she is the center of attention. If you had one minion for her to boss around that might be ok too but she is a bit picky. She is quite the looker and shows off for the boys. Mimi is spayed so she can flirt all she wants. Through a fence she is a guard dog but as soon as you open the gate she’s like “naw, I was just kidding ya’ll” She really is a love. She is good with people of all ages. Her favorite thing to do with volunteers is cuddling on the couch while watching Netflix on their phones. She likes dramas the best. Bonnie Louie’s Legacy “Bonnie is a one year old, 50 pound Rottweiler with the cutest nub tail in all of Cincinnati! Bonnie and her brother Clyde came into their foster home scared and confused, but since have blossomed into loving, wiggly, young dogs who love to play all of the time! Bonnie is fostered with other dogs, a cat and with kids. While Bonnie gets along with everyone in her foster home, she would prefer a medium to large canine friend and older children in her forever home. She has found that even though her intentions are good, she can be a bit much for smaller animals and for small children with her puppy like energy and playfulness. She is learning leash manners, but would love a fenced in yard to play! Bonnie is very quiet and well behaved in her crate at night and when her foster family works during the day. These 9-week-old Chihuahua mixes currently weigh in at 2-5 lbs and are expected to be small dogs when full grown! They are the sweetest little babies and very affectionate and playful. They are taking very well to the crate and potty training but, like any puppies their age, will need continued work in their forever homes! Tabitha Animal Care Alliance “Tabitha came to us with babies. We noticed her having some skin issues and once babies were weaned we were able to treat it more effectively. She now seems to be going longer in between her skin shots as she was moved to the bigger community cat room with us and she seems much more relaxed. In a home atmosphere she may veer completely away from needing her shots to help her skin as she will be even less stressed. She can be on the shy side but has really become quite sociable and very loving, often looking for attention and love. She is definitely still in momma cat mode as she doesn’t hesitate to keep the others in line if she thinks someone is misbehaving. She currently lives in our community cat room with many others and does excellent with them. She is often found in a cat tree near a window, or one of the window shelves.
