The sun is showing its face more and more, which means Cincinnati Reds baseball is right around the corner.
Reds fans will have several chances to nab tickets for the Reds’ 2021 season over the coming days, beginning March 15, when season ticket members can begin purchasing single games during a pre-sale.
Fans with ticket vouchers or credits from the 2020 season, which was significantly shortened due to the coronavirus pandemic, can begin buying singles online on March 16.
Singles go on sale for the general public online on March 17 and at Great American Ball Park on March 18.
Public ticket sales exclude Opening Day.
All tickets for 2021, including those purchased at ticket windows, will be issued digitally through the MLB app. The Reds are employing the app as part of its COVID-19 safety protocols, which also include mandatory masks, physical distancing, grouped seating pods, and contactless payment at concession and merchandise stands.
Great American Ball Park and other sports venues throughout Ohio are preparing for the return of teams and fans this year as COVID-19 numbers fall and the number of vaccinations rises. During a Feb. 25 briefing, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine indicated that outdoor stadiums may resume activity at a maximum capacity of 30%, provided that safety protocols continue. Great American Ball Park’s capacity is a little over 42,200.
Fans who aren’t quite ready to return to the stadium can still be there in spirit by purchasing a photo cutout of themselves that will be placed in the stands. A new Fan Cutouts MVP package includes the cutout along with a bobblehead, hat, license plate holder and can cooler. If purchased before March 24, the cutout is guaranteed to be in the stands for Opening Day, which is April 1. Fans can pick up their cutouts after the regular season ends.
Proceeds from the $100 package benefit the Reds Community Fund.
