You can make merry this holiday season at ye olde Renaissance Park in Waynesville with the return of Yuletide Village.
Yuletide Village transforms the park’s 16th-century English village into a festive wonderland, filled with colorful lights, carolers, holiday treats and a little bit of Christmas’ darker side.
“Yuletide Village at Renaissance Park is a cherished tradition that brings the warmth and wonder of the holiday season to life,” organizers said in a press release. “This beloved annual event promises a magical experience for families and visitors of all ages, with a charming array of activities, entertainment, and seasonal delights.”
At Yuletide Village, guests can walk around and enjoy the lights, stop by the Yule Market to discover unique gifts and crafts from local artisans and vendors, settle in for storytime with Mrs. Claus, board the Yuletide Express for a ride or visit Woodland Santa to share holiday wishes and get a photo. And don’t forget to stop for some hot cocoa and festive snacks to enjoy while you take in the live musical performances, carolers and seasonal entertainment.
Guests can also explore the darker side of the season with Bad Boys of Yuletide where you can bargain with Krampus to get off the Naughty List, battle the Rat King for his throne or ask the Ghost of Christmas Future to reveal what’s in store for you.
Organizers say Yuletide Village is all about celebrating community and goodwill, and in that honor, the event will also hold fundraisers for the Massie Township Fire Department and Found Faith Food Pantry. Proceeds from photos with Krampus and Woodland Santa, ugly Christmas sweaters and gift-wrapping will be donated to both organizations.
Yuletide Village runs on Fridays and Saturdays from Nov. 24-Dec. 16. It opens from 5-9 p.m. on Fridays and 3-9 p.m. on Saturdays, with entertainment starting at 5:30 p.m. Kids 12 and under get in for free; adult tickets are $17. Parking is free.
