Let Freedom Read Day is a call to action, and Roebling Point Books and Coffee in Covington is making it easy and fun to do something about it. Roebling Point Books and Coffee is hosting fREADom Festival on Oct. 7 to celebrate free expression and recognize banned books.
The outdoor event will take place in the parking lot behind the bookstore, where vendors, merchandise, food, drink and music will be set up for entertainment from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“For more than 40 years, Banned Books Week has brought together the entire book community-librarians, teachers, booksellers, publishers, writers, journalists, and readers of all types- in shared support of the freedom to seek and express ideas, even those considered unorthodox or unpopular,” the event listing reads.
